ABOUT YOUR PRESENTER:

Matt Gjertsen is the author of Minimum Viable Manager and founder of BUILT, a company whose mission is to train the next generation of hard-tech leaders how to build teams capable of solving the world’s hardest problems. A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, former Air Force Instructor Pilot and head of Training and Development at SpaceX, Matt has first hand experience leading teams in high pressure, every changing situations.

He now uses his 20 years of experience to create better leaders in organizations like Vast Space and the XPRIZE Foundation. As the host of the Leadership Launchpad podcast, Matt talks with leaders throughout aerospace, defense, and related hard-tech industries about what it takes to lead teams that accomplish big things.

As leaders, we are responsible both for ensuring that the tools used in our own organization are safe and free of bias. Additionally, we are responsible for thinking through how AI safety is replicated at every level of the organization.

- Why this is a critical responsibility for HR operations
How to craft a dynamic AI internal use policy consistent with 2026 technology

John Rood is founder of Proceptual, an AI governance training consultancy. In this role he has helped organizations from startup to Global 50 implement AI governance, safety, and compliance programs.
