Program Overview

The ASTD National Chapter Incentive Program (CHIP) is a revenue sharing program that offers ASTD-LA an opportunity to earn additional revenue. Individual ASTD chapters have always been advocates for ASTD national; now we have an incentive to focus promotions of ASTD membership, conferences, products, and services.

With the ASTD National CHIP program, ASTD-LA can share the revenue from new business members generate for ASTD programs and services. CHIP includes national memberships, conference registrations, and books published by ASTD. The program will eventually expand to include other ASTD products and services, such as webinars, magazine advertising, etc.

Q: Do people have to be ASTD National or ASTD-LA members in order to use the chapter source code?
A: No. Anyone can use the chapter source code.

Q: If a person uses the ASTD-LA source code to register for an ASTD National conference or buy something, will they get a discount?
A: Using the ASTD-LA source code will not trigger any special discount. However, there are so many existing discounts, special offers, early bird registrations, etc., that many people using the chapter source code will benefit from those.

Q: Does the CHIP program on conferences apply only to ICE or also to other conferences offered by ASTD National (e.g.; TechKnowledge)?
A: It also applies to TechKnowledge.

Q: Can ASTD-LA chapter leaders get a list of people who purchase an item with the chapter source code?
A: No. Individual privacy needs to be respected. More generalized reporting may be possible later if it does not raise privacy concerns.

Q: What benefits do individuals receive by using the ASTD-LA chapter code?
A: They benefit by helping ASTD-LA be more successful. Chapters are an important part of ASTD National and the profession as a whole. Chapters are nonprofit organizations that strengthen their communities, help people build skills, find jobs, etc.
